Dorothy Jane Scott, the creepiest case you have never heard of.

In the spring of 1980, 32-year-old, Dorothy Jane Scott was a single mother living in Stanton, California with her aunt and four-year-old son, Shawn. She worked as a secretary at a store in Anaheim called a Swinger's Psych Shop, which specialized in psychedelic items.

She was close to her parents who lived in Anaheim and frequently babysat Shawn while Dorothy worked. Dorothy was a devout Christian who regularly attended church. Didn't do a lot of dating and lived on mostly quiet life, working hard and taking care of her son.

There was no reason to think anything would ever change until Dorothy received a mysterious phone call one day at work. The unidentified man, who called her, claimed that he loved her. And then a moment later proceeded to threaten her.

It didn't stop there. As the weeks went by, the same man would call Dorothy repeatedly, not just at work, but at home. He continued to claim he loved her, while also threatening to kill her. He would mention her daily routine, making it clear that he had been watching her.

Dorothy expressed her fear about this stalker to her family. She told them that she recognized his voice, but was having trouble placing who it was. At one point, she became very alarmed because the caller said he was going to get her alone and cut her into bits so that no one would ever find her.

Another time, the man told her he left something outside for her. When she checked, she found a dead rose on top of her car. Dorothy began taking self-defense lessons and talks about buying a gun. On May 28th, Dorothy was at work when she noticed that her coworker, Conrad Boston, was experiencing redness and swelling on his arm that looked very concerning.

She offered to take him to the emergency room and there are other coworkers, Pam Head, decided to accompany them. Conrad was treated for what turned out to be a spider bite and then released. Dorothy went to go get her car and pull up to the front while Conrad and Pam waited for his prescription. Dorothy didn't want Conrad to have to walk very far after his ordeal.

Conrad and Pam got the prescription and walked outside to wait for Dorothy to pull up in the car, but they didn't see her anywhere. They stood around waiting for about 10 minutes. Suddenly Dorothy's car went speeding by with the headlights on, making it impossible to see who was driving.

Dorothy was never seen alive again. Her car was found a few hours later burning in an alley, 10 miles away. The man who had been calling Dorothy then began calling her mother, tormenting her by telling her he had Dorothy or that he had killed her.

This went on for several years until Dorothy's father answered the phone one day. The man hung up and never called again.

On August 6th, 1984, partial remains were found in some brush in Santa Ana, California. It was confirmed to be the remains of Dorothy Jane Scott. To this day, the man who stalked then killed Dorothy, and then proceeded to torment her mother for years has never been found or identified.
